Little Moon Animation Develops Immersive Language Learning Game For Children

Little Moon Animation completes prototype of ‘Fairy Island - Language Explorers’ ahead of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2022

DUBLIN, March 01 2022 – Little Moon Animation announced the development of ‘Fairy Island - Language Explorers’, an immersive CG game designed to teach children the Irish language. The project is supported by both Foras Na Gaeilge and the Innovation Fund 2021 from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Animation Ireland.  

Seeking to introduce children to the Irish language, the educational game will be based in the world of Little Moon’s series Fia’s Fairies which premieres on RTEJr during their Autumn 2022 lineup. This is another addition to Little Moon Animation’s commitment to branching into the EdTech market.

“Our aim is to create a fun and easy vehicle to promote the Irish language to young children around the world,” said Vanessa Robinson, Founder and Creative Producer of Little Moon Animation. “The game helps reinforce a positive connection to the language in a way that is family-friendly, fun and engaging while using accessible technology for mobile and tablet platforms. We hope that children playing the game will be encouraged to become more autonomous and motivated language learners by interacting with playful stories and  relatable characters.”
